“All sorts of things in this world behave like mirrors.”

About me
Angela Ponce, M.Psy, TX-LPC
Passionate about mental health, families, and curious about how people and systems thrive and succeed, I am inspired by every case I see. While elements of different cases vary, I enjoy puzzling through each client's cases to work out who they are, where they are and a route to where they want to go.
Focusing first on a place for understanding, I explore my client's worldview, needs and goals, figuring out what is you, and what parts are other's ideas and needs of you. As we work, I provide connections regarding what patterns I see, note what others may do in your situation, and explore why you might have chosen the current path. With insights as to how you have come to where you are, we can explore together why you may potentially continue to choose to stay the path or to change and forge your own new path.
I believe there is a reason you have come here, and that there is wisdom in the pains and wounds you have endured. However, it can be difficult to risk new dangers on a new course. With someone to hear the multifaceted parts of you and your values, and help explore your needs from this life, the trip through the looking glass, can reveal so much more about you than you ever knew was possible.

My approach is mainly psychodynamic, with influences by phenomenological, existential, relational, attachment, and humanist philosophies. I have experience with play therapy as well as client-centered therapies.
